Community Affairs – May

SCVBR partners with Bennington County Habitat for Humanity – Shires ReSale Store

Habitat ReSale Stores are independently owned reuse stores operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations that accept donations and sell home improvement items to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities and around the world — a good deal for you, your community and the environment.

After a Covid hiatus we look forward to continuing our partnership with Habitat and doing our part to create affordable housing opportunities in our community. We are asking members of SCVBR to generously volunteer for a shift with Bennington County Habitat for Humanity in the Shires ReSale Store. Volunteer shifts are reserved for SCVBR members every other Thursday between the hours of 2:00 -4:00pm. Volunteer responsibilities may include tidying up the store, rearranging or helping move furniture, and assisting customers. Please sign up for a shift here. We appreciate your participation!

2022 Komen Vermont Virtual MORE THAN PINK Walk to be held Saturday, October 18

Please join us in our 4th year participating as a SCVBR team! It is important to remember that 75% of net funds raised at MORE THAN PINK Walk are used to support local service organizations in Vermont and New Hampshire providing assistance to underinsured and uninsured women and men, as well as supporting breast cancer screening and education. The remaining 25% of net funds raised support Komen’s national research program. Please visit the More Than Pink website below to join us or make a donation! Please help us reach our team goal of $2.500!

SCVBR Non-Food Goods Collection Continues
